探究基督位格的深處Plumbing the Depths of HisPerson

當我們思考耶穌是三位一體的第二位格，即道成肉身的永恆之「道」（Logos）時，我們立即注意到，任何想要探究祂位格深度的企圖，都是在踏足上帝自己的水深之處。在希伯來書一章3節中，作者將基督描述為「祂是神榮耀所發的光輝，是神本體的真像」。
想像一下，有一個人不僅反映了如同摩西在西奈山遇見上帝之後所反射的上帝的榮光，而且祂實際上就是神榮耀所發的光輝。舊約聖經一再重申神的榮耀的概念。沒有什麼能比得上那種屬於神本質的榮耀，這榮耀是祂放在諸天之上的榮耀。這是神藉著「榮耀雲彩」（shekinah）——發光的雲彩彰顯出祂本體的純粹光輝——的顯現（theophany）所彰顯出來的榮耀。這是住在人不能靠近的光裏的那位至高者身上的榮耀，祂是烈火。這是往大馬士革路上，使掃羅失明的榮耀。

來一1～4 神既在古時藉著眾先知多次多方的曉諭列祖，就在這末世藉著他兒子曉諭我們；又早已立他為承受萬有的，也曾藉著他創造諸世界。他是神榮耀所發的光輝，是神本體的真像，常用他權能的命令托住萬有。他洗淨了人的罪，就坐在高天至大者的右邊。他所承受的名，既比天使的名更尊貴，就遠超過天使。

the Depths of His Person
When
we consider Jesus as the second person of the Trinity, the eternal Logos who
became incarnate, we note instantly that in any attempt to plumb the depths of
His person we are stepping into the deep waters of the nature of God Himself.
In Hebrews 1:3, the author describes Christ as “the brightness of His glory and
the express image of His person.”
Imagine
someone who not only reflects the glory of God as Moses did after his encounter
with God on Mount Sinai, but who actually is the very brightness of the divine
glory. The biblical concept of divine glory is reiterated again and again in
the Old Testament. Nothing can be likened to that glory that belongs to the
divine essence and which He has placed above the heavens. This is the glory
manifest in the theophany of the shekinah, the radiant cloud that displays the
pure effulgence of His being. This is the glory of the One who dwells in light
inaccessible, who is a consuming fire. This is the glory that blinded Saul on
the road to Damascus.
